Colourwork

‘Colours take centre stage and in themselves find forms, like in a bowl of fruit with translucent primaries, which in turn speak pure volumes.’

Colour work is what my paintings (non-portrait) are about. I have become more involved with observing and having even more courage to place colours next to each other with certain, bold strokes.

Some are representational, some landscapes, or others entirely abstract. Light is the key, “the way it falls and illuminates even just a rusty old pepper mill on a kitchen table” even in that composition, there is a subtle harmony and perfection.

I live in North Cornwall, after several years of travel and life in different places. I share a studio with my father when in Cornwall, which overlooks the stunning Camel Estuary.
